When our son flew the nest, he kept messing up the spices in his food! To teach him 'how to fish!', we created spice kits, so he could cook his grandma's traditional Indian recipes and stop binging on junk food. This is how we got our start.

Unlike similar products on the market, our products have no salt, sugars, or artificial coloring. They are vegan, gluten-free, and use organic spices.

The secret to delicious Indian food is flavor building, done by layering spices like a 'spice lasagna'! Some of the hardy spices like Cinnamon take longer to roast compared to less hardy ones like bay leaf. So hardy spices are roasted first, then less hardy ones are added, until all the whole spices are roasted evenly. Then the mixture is cooled, ground and blended to correct consistency.

Curry powder is NOT a spice, but a blend of spices that can be used when you are in a hurry and don't want to toast spices and follow flavor-building steps that goes into authentic Indian cooking. Indian food is all about amazing flavors, and the only spice that has the 'heat' is Cayenne. Garam Masala adds significant aroma to food and should be cooked into the dish, not added raw.

Spices typically have a long shelf life, and our spices would last 4 years. Our products are organic, all-natural, gluten-free, non-GMO, vegan, and have no MSG, additives, or preservatives. They are hand-crafted in small batches and packaged in re-usable airtight keep-fresh tins. With every tin sold, we donate 2 meals to food banks to fight hunger.
